Frequent Questions

Where can my son/daughter find the material, agenda, and homework for this class? I post everything on Google Classroom. Students have access to the daily agenda and most (except speaking activities, quizzes/tests, class games) are embedded into the daily agenda. They should check this every day! Have your kiddo show you what the Google Classroom looks like and discuss what they are working on with you. One of my goals is to help my students be active learners who take ownership of their work. That way, they’ll be successful as they continue their education.

How can I help my child study for quizzes/tests? I provide Quizlet practice quizzes that students should practice daily to help them learn the vocabulary/grammar concepts. You should see your child practice these for a few minutes a day, on a regular basis. You can also help your child by quizzing him/her orally. Give the vocabulary word in English and have him/her give you the Spanish.

Any tips for improving their listening? Encourage your child to watch T.V. in Spanish. Especially shows or movies he/she is familiar with. That allows your child to focus on the listening, rather than having to worry about following the plot.

How about their speaking skills? Have your child to speak with you in Spanish. You may not know any Spanish, but it is fantastic practice for him/her.
