About Ms. Riz

I am so glad you are here! Welcome to Team Quandary!

My name is Ms. Risendal, but most of my students call me “Riz” or “Rizzy.” I moved to Colorado over five years ago from Richmond, Virginia. This is my third year working at Summit Ridge.

When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and I spend most of my summer exploring! So far I have traveled to Spain, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, and South Africa. I have plenty more destinations on my list including South America, Switzerland, and Norway.

Sports are a huge part of me (not competitive at all...just ask my former students.....) and I try to utilize movement and teamwork into the classroom regularly. I am a big South Carolina Gamecock, Washington Capitals, and Green Bay Packers fan.

I absolutely love teaching and working with middle schoolers!! They are the best part of the job. I truly value my relationships with students and can’t wait to get to know you all! :) Welcome to Summit Ridge!
