Scheduling & Course Planning

When selecting courses each year, remember that course selection is a team process that involves you, your parents, your counselor, and your teachers. But primarily...YOU ARE IN CHARGE! Consider your long-range and career goals and continue to refer to the Jeffco Graduation Requirements and College Entrance Requirements to make sure you're on track!

You are encouraged to discuss course selection options with your current teachers and EHS counselor. Teachers know you and can recommend a good fit. Teachers advise you of the possible challenges and needed strengths to be successful in a course. Counselors support you in looking ahead and considering future plans when selecting classes. Great time and effort is given in the Spring to help you select classes. EHS strives to place all students correctly, so learning can begin on the very first day of school.

The master schedule is created based on students’ course requests made during registration in January and February. Courses are chosen, teacher assignments are made, classes are balanced,  textbooks are purchased, and rooms are assigned on the basis of these requests. Therefore, it is very important to choose your classes with care and know schedule adjustments are limited. EHS Schedule Adjustment Policy
