Google Classroom

The page serves as a visual tutorial for Google Classroom, our Earth Science platform.

Parents cannot log into Google Classroom but can contact their child's teacher with an email address(es) to get weekly summary emails.

Weekly parent or guardian summaries: you can receive a weekly summary of your child's progress in Google Classroom on Friday afternoons. Please let your child's teacher know the email address(es) where you would like to receive the summary. The summary will show you what your child's teacher has posted over the course of the week, the assignments for the week, and whether they are due soon, turned in, or missing.

Steps to Join Google Classroom

1. Go to classroom.google.com. 2. Click the + sign in the top right corner. 3. Click on Join Class. 4. Enter the class code provided by your teacher. 5. Click Join.

Navigating Google Classroom

Shown is a homepage for a google classroom site. Click the 3 lines in the top left corner to access all of your Google Classrooms. When you're on the Stream, this is where you can see posts with key class announcements and directions. On the left, you can see your upcoming assignment reminders. Under the banner at the top, you can see announcements from your teacher. At the top, click on the Classwork tab to see and complete your assignments.

This image shows an example of the Classwork tab. The classwork tab is where you see class materials and complete your assignments. Each icon represents an assignment or class material. Click on it for more information. If you click on View Your Work, you can see all of your assignments, whether they are assigned, turned in, missing, or returned to you.

This shows an example assignment page, once you've clicked on it from the Classwork tab. At the top, the assignment title and point value are listed. Below the title is the assignment due date and time. On the right is where you find the documents your teacher provided you to work on. Click on the turn in button on the right for your teacher to receive the assignment. Under the turn in button is a place for private comments where you can message your teacher with questions or comments.
