Mi nombre es Eva Elena Quezada, nativa de la ciudad de Aldama, Chih. Graduada con honores de la escuela Normal del Estado de Chihuahua y de la Universidad de Regis donde concluí mi  Maestria en Educación. Actualmente continúo en Regis cursando una especialización en Educación Multicultural y Multilingüe. Tengo 25 años de experiencia de los cuales 9 he trabajado en Alameda Internacional, es mi pasión trabajar en la enseñanza. En este momento, soy maestra de la clase de Carrera Técnica en Educación y Desarrollo Humano y Lengua y Literatura en Español, en el programa de Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional. Así mismo, estoy a cargo de la asesoría Técnico Pedagógica del Departamento de Lenguaje Dual.

Considero que además de educar individuos bilingües estamos educando ciudadanos con competencias multiculturales. A través de nuestras clases,  enfatizamos el autoconocimiento y la autovaloración de nuestros estudiantes para que honren su propia cultura. También considero que el entendimiento y respeto entre culturas, es la base de una sociedad funcional en donde los individuos no sólo hablen un segundo idioma, sino entiendan y valoren las otras culturas. ¿El resultado? ¡Estudiantes y familias que disfrutan de sus múltiples culturas, ya que no deben elegir entre una u otra, son orgullosos de ser bilingües y todo lo que ello implica!

My name is Eva Elena Quezada, a native of Aldama, Chih city. Graduated with honors from the Escuela Normal del Estado de Chihuahua and Regis University where I completed my Master's in Education. I am currently continuing at Regis studying to complete a endorsement in Multicultural and Multilingual Education. I have 25 years of experience, 9 of which I have worked at Alameda Internacional. It is my passion to work in teaching. At this moment, I am a teacher of the Technical Career class in Education and Human Development and Language and Literature in Spanish in the Diploma Program of the International Baccalaureate. Likewise, I am in charge of coaching teachers in the Department of Dual Language.

I believe that in addition to educating bilingual individuals, we are educating citizens with multicultural competencies. Through our classes, we emphasize the self-knowledge and self-worth of our students so that they honor their own culture. I also believe that understanding and respect between cultures is the basis of a functional society where individuals not only speak a second language, but also understand and value other cultures. The result? Students and families who enjoy their multiple cultures, since they don't have to choose between one or the other, they are proud to be bilingual and all that implies!

Soy Esther Seide. Soy maestra en Alameda International desde el año 2019. Enseño las clases de Arte de la lengua en español II, IB-DP Lengua A: Lengua y  Literatura en español  y IB-DP Lengua B en español.  Nací, crecí y estudié en Venezuela obteniendo el grado de: Maestra de Español, Literatura y Latín. Soy descendiente de padres originarios de Haití, esa es la razón por la cual también hablo criollo haitiano. Mi vida siempre ha estado enriquecida por una interesante mezcla cultural, la cual valoro y disfruto a plenitud. 

     Tener la oportunidad de ser bilingüe o dominar más idiomas es un privilegio y una ventaja, porque te ofrece la oportunidad de interactuar con más personas, lo cual es una ventaja en este mundo que promueve la interconexión global . Ser bilingüe te permite ser empático porque puedes comprender el mundo desde diferentes perspectivas culturales. 

     Por tal motivo, te invito a que te atrevas a ser bilingüe. No tengas miedo a equivocarte durante el proceso de aprendizaje. Es normal cometer errores. Solo disfruta la oportunidad de aprender una segunda lengua.

 I am Esther Seide. I have been a teacher at Alameda International since 2019. I teach Language Arts in Spanish II, IB-DP Language A: Spanish Language and Literature, and IB-DP Spanish Language B. I was born, raised and studied in Venezuela obtaining the degree of: Teacher of Spanish, Literature and Latin. I am descended from parents originally from Haiti, that is the reason why I also speak Haitian Creole. My life has always been enriched by an interesting cultural mix, which I fully appreciate and enjoy.

     Having the opportunity to be bilingual or master more languages ​​is a privilege and an advantage, because it gives you the opportunity to interact with more people, which is an advantage in this world that promotes global interconnectedness. Being bilingual allows you to be empathetic because you can understand the world from different cultural perspectives.

     For this reason, I invite you to dare to be bilingual. Do not be afraid to make mistakes during the learning process. It is normal to make mistakes. Just enjoy the opportunity to learn a second language.

Mi nombre es Marisol Bustamante, nací en Durango, México, donde tuve la dicha de pasar mi infancia y una gran parte de mi juventud. Llegué a Colorado durante la preparatoria y completé mis estudios universitarios en la universidad Metropolitana de Denver, donde saqué mi licenciatura en lenguas modernas con especialización en educación k-12 en el año 2019. Desde entonces Alameda International  ha sido mi casa, donde tuve la oportunidad de comenzar mi carrera de enseñanza. Durante los últimos tres años, he enseñado  las clases de herencia I & 2, para secundaria y preparatoria y arte de la lengua en español para séptimo, octavo y noveno grado. Formar parte del programa Dual, que promueve el bilingüismo y  poder ser testigo del crecimiento de los estudiantes  hace que todo esfuerzo valga la pena. Además de las diversas oportunidades laborales a las que los estudiantes se enfrentarán en un futuro al ser bilingües, existen diversas razones para alentarlos a seguir y disfrutar de este camino. En las clases bilingües, los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de sobresalir académicamente, así como aumentar su curiosidad, tener una mente abierta y desarrollar una mayor empatía e inclusión en su entorno. Es importante que los estudiantes entiendan que ser parte de ambas culturas e idiomas les ayuda a tener oportunidades únicas en la vida y deben estar orgullosos de quienes son.

Marisol Bustamante; I was born in Durango, Mexico, where I had the opportunity and joy to spend my childhood and a large part of my youth. I resided in  Colorado during my high school years. Later, I completed undergraduate studies at Denver Metropolitan University, where I earned my BA in Modern Languages ​​with a minor in K-12 Education in 2019. Since then, Alameda International has become my home, where I have had the opportunity of starting a teaching career. For the past three years, I have taught Heritage classes I & 2 for middle and high school, and Spanish language arts for 7th, 8th and 9th grade. Being part of the Dual language program which promotes bilingualism and witnessing the students' growth makes every effort worthwhile. Students will have more opportunities in the future by being bilingual. In bilingual classes students will have the opportunity to excel academically as well as increase their curiosity, be open-minded, and develop greater empathy and inclusion in their surroundings. It’s important to make students understand that being part of both cultures and languages help them to have unique opportunities in life, and they should be proud of who they are. 

¿Hola, Qué tal? Mi nombre es Jesús Hierro. Nací y crecí en Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico hasta los 16 años. Cuando me vine a Estados Unidos, entendía un poco el inglés gracias a las clases que tomé cuando estuve en la escuela en México. Terminé la preparatoria en Estados Unidos y en ese tiempo tomé clases para aprender a leer y escribir lo inglés lo mejor posible, mas sin embargo, a mi siempre me gustaron las matemáticas porque suenan y funcionan igual en cualquier lenguaje. Además, las matemáticas utilizan los cognados con mucha frecuencia, entonces nunca batallé para entender matematicas en inglés inclusive si no hablaba el lenguaje. En mi carrera universitaria me enfoqué en Ingeniería con un énfasis en educación y ciencias de la computación. Ya cuando comencé a trabajar de maestro, me dediqué a trabajar con estudiantes bilingües o aquellos que quieren aprender inglés. Eso me permitió unirme al programa de lenguaje DUAL en Alameda y poder enseñar clases de matemáticas en español a nivel secundaria. Este es mi cuarto año siendo parte del equipo de Lenguaje DUAL y me encantaría seguir compartiendo y aprendiendo todas las riquezas lingüísticas que tienen nuestros estudiantes bilingües en Alameda. 

Hi, how is it going? My name is Jesús Hierro. I was born and raised in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico until the age of 16. When I came to the United States I understood a bit of English thanks to the classes I took when I was in school in Mexico. I finished high school in the United States and during that time I enrolled in courses which greatly helped me to read and write in English at an academic level, but I always enjoyed mathematics as well because I didn’t really need to translate Math between English and Spanish. There are plenty of cognates in mathematics, so that made it easy for me to understand Math in English even when I spoke very little of the language. During college, I focused on Engineering with an emphasis on education and computer science. Once I graduated, I began working as a Mathematics teacher though I dedicated myself to work with bilingual students or students who want to learn English. This particular vocation allowed me to join the DUAL language program in Alameda and be able to teach Math in Spanish and English at the secondary level. This is my fourth year being part of the DUAL Language team and I would love to continue sharing and learning all the linguistic riches that our bilingual students in Alameda bring every day 

My name is Roya Juracek and I am an instructional coach at Alameda International working with our multilingual learners. I did not grow up bilingual, but learned Spanish later in life. I have always been in awe of others who seamlessly weave from one language to another and hope to one day reach that level of fluency. Being bilingual means having the ability to think, communicate and dream in another language and to deepen understanding of cultures beyond my own. Knowing Spanish allows me to make connections with our students and their parents and I will forever be an advocate for bilingual and multilingual programming and opportunities. 

Mi nombre es Roya Juracek y soy una asesora en Alameda Internacional trabajando con los estudiantes multilingües. No crecí bilingüe pero aprendí el español al pasar los años. Siempre he interactuado con personas que dominan más de un idioma y yo siempre he pensado: “Ojala algún día pueda alcanzar ese nivel de fluidez”. Ser bilingüe significa tener la capacidad de hablar, pensar, comunicar y soñar en otro idioma y profundizar en la comprensión de las culturas más allá de mi propia cultura. Saber español me permite establecer conexiones con nuestros estudiantes y sus padres y siempre seré una defensora de los programas y las oportunidades bilingües y multilingües. 

My name is Sara Reich and I am the dual language program administrator at Alameda International.  When I was little, I always asked my mom to talk with me in Spanish because I have always loved speaking Spanish. I started taking classes in Spanish in high school and fell even more in love with the language and being bilingual. Speaking Spanish allows me to advocate for students and families in my work every day.  I love that we are able to offer so many opportunities for students to develop Spanish at high levels at Alameda through our incredible dual language program.  

Mi nombre es Sara Reich y soy la administradora para el programa de lenguaje dual en Alameda Internacional.  Cuando era niña, siempre quería que mi mamá hablara español conmigo porque siempre me encantaba hablar español. Empecé tomando clases de español en la secundaria y me enamoré más del lenguaje y ser bilingüe. Hablar español me da la oportunidad de hablar para los estudiantes y familias en mi trabajo cada día.  Me encanta que podamos ofrecer tantas oportunidades para nuestros estudiantes desarrollar el español a niveles altos en Alameda a través de nuestro programa de lenguaje dual.
