Library Conduct
The library is a community space. The golden rule here is to act in ways that are respectful to the space, and the people and materials in it.
Students MAY:
Use their phones
Play games
Watch movies with headphones
Sleep
Have drinks with lids
Eat food
Do homework
Read, checkout books
Use the balcony
Students MAY NOT:
Move any furniture around the library
Be a distraction or disrespectful to others
Have drinks without lids
Leave trash or a mess
Book Checkout
Students can checkout 5 books or materials at a time.
Books are due after 2 weeks, but please let us know if you need more time and we will renew the loan period.
Fines
Fines will occur if books are returned to the library damaged or are lost.
The fine is the cost of replacing the book and will appear on your Jeffco Student Fines and Fees account.
There are no late fees at the Dakota Ridge Library.
Chromebooks
Chromebook Troubleshooting - Try these fixes before bringing your Chromebook to the library for help!
Chromebook Repair Information (School Year) or Summer Repair Information
Chromebooks that need repaired should be brought into the library immediately - make sure you have tried the troubleshooting steps above, first.
Lost/Stolen Chromebooks:
Report missing immediately to the library and to Campus Security. A police report will be filed and the Chromebook will be locked - which makes it no longer functional, until we unlock it at the district.
Day Loaners:
If you forget your Chromebook or it is out of battery you may checkout a loaner for the day from the library.
If an individual student is using this option too often, it will be revoked.
Chargers:
We do not checkout chargers from the library.
Damaged or lost chargers are student responsibility to replace. Replacement chargers can be purchased in the library (fee will be placed on your student account) or school store (cash or card), or bought from Amazon here. Buying a charger from a non-approved location (other Amazon links or online in other ways) can result in damage to the Chromebook that will financially be the student's responsibility.
Printing
You must use your Jeffco Chromebook to print at school.
Starting January 2023, students will not be able to print more than 25 pages at a time and can not print in color. If you need more pages than this for class or for a club, you must ask that teacher to print for you.
