Comp Team
We compete against other school-based teams throughout the state in the American Scholastic Climbing League. We compete as a winter sport running from November to February. Click the link above to see a current schedule on the ASCL website!
Climbers are required to register 24 hours before a comp with the American Scholastic Climbing League as well as pay a membership fee to compete in a League competition. Registration link
Can I "Letter" In Rock Climbing?
Yes! You can letter in Rock Climbing! Our varsity letters are given to athletes who meet the minimum requirements to compete in our Regional Final competition. This is traditionally competing in a minimum of three regular season competitions. You can even gain further accolades by qualifying for the State Final!

Redpoint Format
There are typically are around 20 bouldering problems and 20 top-rope / sport routes athletes can climb.
The top 5 climbs are counted towards their score: 2 problems, 2 routes and their next highest climb from either category (wild card).
In order to complete a route, they must have 2 witnesses and climb the route cleanly with a controlled finish.
Other ASCL Climbers, Coaches, or Gym staff can be witnesses, NOT parents.
Climbers receive a bonus for flashing and /or leading a route.
Please do not provide beta (explain how to complete the climb) while climbers are on a route or problem; however, they can talk about them when on the ground.
