Current Teachers Enter Suggested Next Courses
Students' current English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language (if applicable) teachers will enter the suggested next course in each subject. These recommendations will be available for students from DMS, OMS, and 3-Creeks K-8 to view in Campus > Academic plan prior to your meeting with Counselors (see Step 2).
Core courses for 8th graders at Wayne Carle MS, Excel Academy and Lincoln Academy will be entered differently into Campus, so these students will not see recommended core courses in Campus. Students can visit with their current teachers about recommendations for next year. Student preferences will be entered on the paper Course Selection form and RVHS staff will enter these choices into Campus for Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science.
Receive Forms & Info from Counselors
In English/Lang Arts classes, current RVHS students will receive Course Selection forms and information about electives from Counselors. Skip to forms. Counselors will present information about choosing classes and will show students how to view teachers’ suggested placements in the Academic Plan tab in Campus. Current 8th graders at feeder schools will receive this information at their middle schools. If not attending a feeder school, join us at the Incoming 9th Grade Information Night (DATE TBD) or use our online resources to get this information.
Grade-level forms and the presentations counselors shared are provided below in the Grade-Specific Instructions section of this webpage.

Choose & Enter Electives, Meet with Counselor
All students will enter elective course choices in Campus > Academic Plan* and on their Course Selection paper forms. In English classes (current RVHS students), students will meet with their counselors to discuss elective choices and confirm teacher suggested placements for ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science & World Language (if applicable). Incoming 9th graders (current 8th graders) are welcome to contact RVHS Counselors with questions about placements or courses. Contact information is provided near the bottom of this webpage.

Get Signatures
Students will discuss their course choices with parents and have parents sign their paper forms. If the Course Selection Guide indicates that any chosen electives require teacher approval, students will need to acquire signatures.
Turn in Forms
Students will turn their paper course forms into the Counseling Center (if a current RV student). If students have changed any elective choices since they met with their counselor, they should note those changes in a red or brightly-colored pen on the paper Course Selection form, and update their elective choices in Campus > Academic Plan. If a current 8th grader attending a feeder school, forms will be collected at each middle school. If a student does not attend a feeder middle school, forms should be dropped off at the RVHS Counseling Center.
Make sure you've filled out the online AP/Honors Agreement if taking any AP/Honors classes next year.
