Band or Orchestra!

Interested in joining band or orchestra? Find more information here!

Information/Rental Night:

All elementary students and parents interested in Band and Orchestra should come to  one of the Information/Rental Nights:

August 24th @ Ken Caryl Middle School Gymnasium

August 29th @ Dakota Ridge High School Gymnasium

You will get all the information you will need about the program at an information session from 6:30-7 PM and a brief demonstration of the various instruments that students can choose from from 7-7:15. Students will be able to try the instruments again and by the end of the night, students should know what instrument they are leaning towards. There will also be music stores to help your student get set up with a rental for the instrument that they choose and all necessary supplies.

How to Join:

Mr. Graversen and Mrs. Welch will be visiting classrooms throughout the first two weeks of school to give instrument demonstrations and information to students. Before signing up, please attend the Info Night (see above) and look at all of the handouts below. Once you have decided FOR SURE that you will be joining, and know what instrument you will be playing, please register for class!

Can't attend the info night?

Please read all of the information on this page and scroll to the bottom of this page for the handouts (Handbook and Supply List). The Presentation link will take you to the slides with all of the information we will be going over. If your child knows which instrument they would like to play, please register for class. If they are not sure yet, watch the videos on BePartOfTheMusic.org . We will pick students up for their first classes (see below) so please just make sure they know that they are able to join!

Students are expected to attend band/orchestra class twice a week on the specified days and times. School Instruments

Most families choose to rent instruments through local or online music shops, but we have several school instruments reserved for students with financial need. The fee is $125 for the year, which can be waived for students who qualify. If you need to sign up for a school instrument, please fill out the last few questions on the registration form. We will email you the rental contract, which you will need to sign and either email back or print and bring to class in order to take the instrument home.
