Our Mission:
Our Mission:
Our mission, to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information, reflects the American Library Association's goal outlined in Information Power: Guidelines for School and Library Media Programs. This mission is accomplished:
- By providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
- By providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
- By working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students
Collaborative Approach:
Collaborative Approach:
Our libraries have adopted a collaborative approach to instruction. Together, the teacher librarian and the classroom or specials teacher plan and deliver Jeffco curriculum. This instructional partnership results in successful resource-based units that broaden the use of resources and promote information literacy.
