Lettering Requirements

How many points do I need?

Must have AT LEAST 100 points

Minimum 150 for a letter AND pin

Each additional 100 points above 150 gets another letter in consecutive years.

Community points (minimum of 2 activities):

(5 pts) Attend an art show or gallery, and submit proof of participation (limit of 3 visits)
(5 pts) Attend college campus art class visit, summarize visit in a paragraph and grab a flyer (limit of 3 schools)
(5 pts) Professional artist interview, use sheet of questions provided by an art teacher
(10 pts) Attend Portfolio Review Day at RMCAD (in September), provide information from the schools you talk to

10 - Each semester a student receives an "A" in a visual arts class
10 - Each upper level (advanced) visual arts class
10 - Taking classes in 3 or more mediums
20 - Perfect attendance in a visual arts class
25 - Enroll in AP Studio Art, complete and submit a portfolio (must earn a "C" or higher)
25 - Enroll in AP Art History, take the exam (must earn "C" or higher)

5 - NAHS member
5 - BCAS officer
1 - Each hour over required amount (MAX 20 PTS)
10 - Facilitate art workshop outside of school day (must be arranged with an art teacher)
15 - BCAS member

Make sure to list the works, titles, and mediums of the pieces accepted or awarded in the shows below.

5 - have a work of art submitted into a non-jury district art show (Day of the Dead, Equity and Excellence, Power of the Process, and Congressional)
5 - have a work of art place (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable Mention) in a non-jury art show (see examples above)
10 - have a work of art get Best Of Show in a non-jury art show
10 - have a work of art get accepted into the Jefferson County Secondary District Show
10 - have a work of art place in Jefferson County Secondary District Show
20- have a work of art get Best Of Show in Jefferson County Secondary District Show
