Hi! I’m Sarah Staib, your child’s fourth grade teacher. I just want to let you know that I appreciate you sharing your child with me and I can already tell this is going to be a great year! We have a GREAT class! This is only my second year here at Bear Creek K-8, but I am by no means new to teaching.I’ve been in schools for over 19 years.
I began my teaching career many years ago teaching in Arvada, grades four and five. I then stayed home for several years with my three children (Toby - senior, Sadie,- junior and Brady - freshman). I slowly returned to teaching, mostly part time - doing various roles such as:, ELL teacher, Resource Teacher, Guest Teacher, para, you name - I’ve done it! My latest role was an interventionist, primarily for grades K-3. I’ve spent the last 11 years at Peiffer Elementary School. I’m excited to be making a change and getting back to having my own class full time! Fourth grade is my most absolute favorite grade to teach!
When I’m not busy teaching I spend my free time with my family (my husband, kids, 2 dogs, a turtle and a gecko). We mostly spend our time going to sporting events, doing outdoor activities (camping, paddle boarding, hiking, etc) and travelling. I’m actually a Colorado native (grew up in this area) - although I have lived in Spain, Australia, Massachusetts (college) and even on a sailboat. I’ve been lucky enough to have traveled to every continent, except Antarctica!
