Purpose of the Union for Students of Color
The Union for Students of Color provides an outlet for Arvada West students to have authentic and open conversations, to share their joys and sorrows as they feel so inclined, to affirm the unique experiences and identities of students of color, and to create a support system that promotes empowerment and resilience.

USOC Meeting norms
The Union for Students of Color is committed to the following meeting norms developed by student leaders:
What we say in here stays in here.
Listen for understanding.
Support each other - being able to talk about issues or things going on and knowing club members will listen with empathy. We will have each other's backs.
Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated. *If you need to share an experience that includes hate speech, please give a heads up to the club that you will be using that language to inform, not to offend.
Members who do not follow our norms will have an opportunity to participate in a restorative conversation with other club members to repair any harm caused by their behavior.
