Checking Grades

My grading policy will be to update grades on Infinite Campus at least once a week.  I would recommend setting a time to check once a week.  *Please note that grades seen in Google Classroom are only partial grades and do not reflect the student's actual percentage.  The only place to see the correct in progress grade is infinite campus.

Work that is turned in on time, will be included in these updated grades.

Work that comes in late (for any reason) will be graded and entered late.

Please e-mail if you have questions on specific assignments.

Text Remind and E-mail Updates

In an effort to keep you up to date with things going on in science class, I utilize a text remind service as well as email communications through a list serve.  If you would like to receive updates and notifications about science through text messages on your phone, please click the relevant link for directions for how to register.

Physics Text Remind Registration Link

Chemistry Text Remind Registration Link

Please note that I do not receive text remind responses so if you have questions about text announcements, please email me.

If you would like to receive e-mail reminders instead of or in addition to the remind notifications, please send an e-mail to samuel.auerbach@jeffco.k12.co.us and let me know if you are in chemistry or physics.

Of course parents and students are welcome to register for either or both.

Late Work Policy

Turning in work after the day it is due is strongly discouraged however, it will be accepted based on the following procedures.  The first class period that an assignment is late it will automatically lose 10% of its value after it has been graded for a maximum percentage of 90%.  Students can turn in work between two days late and up to a week late and still receive 75% maximum if the assignment is prefect.  After a week, the a maximum percentage students can earn on an assignment is 50%.  This policy applies up to the unit test which will be the cutoff for all late work for that unit.  At that point, late work will no longer be accepted for any reason.

PLEASE NOTE...  If a student is submitting late work digitally on Google Classroom and are turning it in after I have already graded the assignment and entered the scores into Infinite Campus, students will have to EMAIL ME at samuel.auerbach@jeffco.k12.co.us to have their assignment graded.

If you are absent, you will have two days for every 1 day you were absent to make work up before it starts losing points.
