The song represents the struggle many of us go through and sends the message that no matter how many times you get knocked down in life or fail, you NEED to get back up and keep trying. Strong choice of a song, Class of 2020!

The Faughnan Scholarship

The Faughnan Scholarship winner(s) are usually announced during our Senior Academic Awards, since we were unable to hold this event, the winner(s) will are announced in the below videos from the Faughnan family.

Christopher E. Faughnan, a 1981 graduate of Arvada High School, perished on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center. He was a 37 year old father of three who believed we should all strive to leave our world better than we found it. He was a bond broker who worked in the heart of Wall Street; however, he understood money did not hold life’s importance. Christopher centered his priorities around his family, helping others, the environment, and showing decency toward his fellow man. He was a man of honor and conviction who believed in hard work and taking responsibility for one’s actions.

He believed in treating all people with respect and fairness, and that those blessed with life’s gifts should lend a helping hand to those less fortunate. He made it a point to be informed about world events and to understand circumstances as viewed from other eyes. He believed in having an informed opinion and expressing beliefs through well intended actions and words. The Christopher E. Faughnan Scholarship is dedicated to these principles and is intended to assist students in their aspirations to create a better world.
