A letter to our future fifth graders!
Hello Vanderhoof Community!
I am excited to begin my 7th year at Vanderhoof! This will be a year like no other, but we will make it a fun and successful year of learning for all.
Before joining the amazing Road Runner team, I was born and raised in Castle Rock, Colorado. I received my Elementary Education License, Bachelor's, and Master's degree from Colorado Christian University. I was lucky enough to play softball all four years through college and miss it every day.
This summer, I picked up some new hobbies besides my usual traveling, book reading, and Netflix. I am slowly and painfully learning to play golf with my husband, Garrett, and continuing to play weekly Pickleball with great friends.
I look forward to an adventurous year and please don't hesitate to contact me at:
Welcome! I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year. Fifth grade is an exciting year not only for academic learning but also for social and emotional growth. This will be a fun and exciting year. I look forward to getting to know you and your child.
I am originally from a small town near Lake Huron in Michigan. After graduating from high-school I moved to Boulder where I attended the University of Colorado. My public teaching experience began in 2003 in the state of Arizona. I taught fifth grade as well as eight grade at a K-8 school before returning to Colorado.
My husband Nat and I have two children Josie (13) and Thatcher (11). Together as a family we enjoy the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. In addition to enjoying the outdoors I am passionate about education, health and reading. One of my favorite weeks this summer was spent traveling through the Black Hills of South Dakota, visiting our National Monuments and tubing through Spearfish Creek.
I am deeply committed to Vanderhoof, its success and the success of your child.
