About Liz

Hello! My name is Liz Maupin, and I am excited to be a part of the IA team! I am a proud mom of three daughters and am married to Steve, a Jeffco band and orchestra teacher. When I'm not teaching, I love to explore the outdoors! My family enjoys traveling, playing games, camping, singing and dancing together, and getting outside!

I am a Colorado native, and graduated from Wheat Ridge High School, as well as Regis University. My teaching career spans over two decades! Teaching at the Open School for the past 5 years, has given me an opportunity to put in to practice, my beliefs around student choice in learning, pursing one's passions, and educating the whole child.

I feel at my very best in the classroom, and I am so excited to share my passion for learning and discovering with your child! I look forward to this journey with the students at JCOS, and am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this community!
