Symphonic Winds
Symphonic Winds is a select, advanced to mastery-level performing organization in the
instrumental music department, and performs grade 4/5/6 literature. This ensemble
performs at major regional concert band festivals. There are some after school rehearsals
in the weeks prior to concerts, festivals, etc.
Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble is an advanced performing organization in the instrumental music
department, and performs grade 3/4/5 literature. There are some after school rehearsals in
the weeks prior to concerts, festivals, etc.
Symphonic Band
Concert Band is an intermediate to advanced performing organization in the instrumental
music department, and performs grade 2/3/4 literature. There are some after school
rehearsals in the weeks prior to concerts, festivals, etc.
Jazz Ensemble
Jazz Ensemble is an advanced performing organization in the instrumental music
department, and performs a wide variety of jazz, rock, and latin music. This ensemble
will be comprised of the standard big band instrumentation, and is an extra-curricular,
auditioned group.
Marching Band
Membership in the marching band requires strenuous physical exercise and the ability to
play the difficult literature encountered in the activity. All students enrolled in the band
program are encouraged to march, and all marching band instrumentalists are expected to
be enrolled in an instrumental class during the school day (Please contact Mr. Golding to
discuss conflicts with schedules). The marching band performs in the fall.
Percussion Ensembles
These ensemble will rehearse and perform percussion ensemble literature, as well as their
respective symphonic winds/wind ensemble/symphonic band material. In addition to
performing in regular band concerts, this ensemble also performs at solo and ensemble,
community events, and percussion-specific festivals.
Colorguard
Students who are interested in dance, choreography, and movement may choose to
audition for our colorguard. The guard is an extension of our winter guard program.
Auditions are usually held at the end of April/early May.
