Can Video Games Have A Cognitive Effect

by Harrison

Do video games have cognitive effects on the brain? As a parent you might say “No! Of course not, they melt our children's brains, not help them” while you are right you're also wrong. Let me explain. Many tests have been done, one of those tests was called “The Box” where they took people who play the game “Portal 2” in a room with three pressure plates. The items at their disposal were one metal box, a rope, some hooks and their mind. They also put people who didn’t play Portal 2 in the same box, and all the people that play Portal 2 escaped. Another test they did was they took a trained military drone driver with years and years of experience. And he put him up against a guy who played flight simulator. And guess what they were equally matched.

But people who play FPS games 5-15 hours a week we’re able to pick out things in a crowded area like where’s Waldo. They were able to find him faster than people who didn’t play FPS games 5-15 hour a week.

After all that it comes down to one thing whether you’ll believe me or not.

How to turn on a phone in school

By: Jake Beckman

Should phones be allowed to be pulled out in school? I think they should because if you have all your work you should be allowed to take out your phone so kids don’t get in trouble for sneaking it. Another way it can be used is during lunch because instead of just talking to people you can show funny things about your fun to each other that aren't mean to other people. Also, it can be taken away if someone decides to blast some sound on their phone. For there to be both sides there would be Consequences if you use it in the wrong way.
