FIX - HDMI Audio Output to Newline Panel

Issue: Connecting a DVD/VCR player to the Newline Display Panel via HDMI results in video being played, but no sound. Typically affects only the DVD portion of the player, while VHS plays as normal.

Solution: Switch audio playback to Dolby Digital > PCM.

Notes: This has been tested on a Magnavox ZV457MG9 DVD/VCR combo player (pictured), but steps likely will be the same on Toshiba or similar players.

Necessary equipment: DVD/VCR player, DVD/VCR player remote, Newline Display Panel (Q-Series), HDMI cable, DVD (for testing)

Steps:

Locate the corresponding remote control for the DVD/VCR player.

Enter the Setup menu using the Setup button on the remote.

In the Setup menu, enter the General Setting menu.

Select Playback.

Select Disc Audio.

Select Dolby Digital.

Select PCM. Make sure that the checkbox is marked to complete the selection.

You can now return to playback and audio should work over HDMI.
