Hello! 👋 My name is Becky Hotung and I am the JCYC Educational Advisor at Roosevelt Middle School. During a regular school week, I run tutoring programs after school and during lunchtime. Over the course of this year, I have also given many class presentations, planned field trips for 8th graders, and organized Career Day at Roosevelt.
Before coming to JCYC, I spent two years as a Student Success Coach through AmeriCorps in Buffalo, NY (my hometown!) and Philadelphia, PA.
My name is Amanda Li. I have been with JCYC for almost four years! I recently graduated from SF State with a Bachelors in Child Adolescent Development with a Minor in Special Education.
My name is Annie Ng and I'm an undergrad at SF State University. I'm a biology major but am trying to get into the nursing program. I like working at JCYC because of the purpose of the program. I love the idea of a program providing the resources needed to help low income students get into college. This is my 4th year at JCYC :)
Hello! My name is Rayna Carey, and I have been an Academic Coach for JCYC since September 2019. I am from San Jose, California, and I am currently working towards my undergraduate degree in English with a concentration in Writing at the University of San Francisco.
Hi! My name is Crystal Castaneda and I am a JCYC Tutor at Roosevelt Middle School. I’m currently a third year at San Francisco State University working on my undergraduate degree in Sociology with two minors in Race and Resistance and Latina/o Studies. I love to work with the youth and my career goals are to work with non-profits or go into the education sector.
Even though we're taking a break from meeting physically at school, we are still here for you! Please email Miss Becky at hotungr@sfusd.edu if there is anything we can do to support you during distance learning.
