Friends, Family, Mind

Friends

I know many of you come into middle school and think, how am I supposed to hang out with my friends and get my work done. Well here is some things you can do:

  • Go over to a friends house and do homework together
  • make a study group
  • devote one hour each night to "me time"
  • DON'T WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE

Make sure you:

  • CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY
  • Know the real them
  • Feel comfortable around them and their family

Family

With everything going on you can't forget your family! They want to see you and spend time with you just as much, maybe even more than your friends do. I know you probably don't want to spend time with them because they are "annoying" or "not cool", but they love you and you will get over them embarrassing you one day.

Here's some things you can do to hang out with them and still do work:

  • do work in a place where the whole family is (unless it's too loud)
  • get a family member to help you study
  • set aside specific time to spend with them

Make sure to:

  • not hide anything from your parents (they will find out)
  • not be afraid to go talk to your family if you need

Mind

Lots of stuff happens in middle school, sometimes you loose your friends, sometimes things happen in your family, and sometimes you just feel emotions without there even being a reason. It's important to try and get help and stay safe during these times though even if you might not want to. Here is some advice and a few things that might help:

  • Email a school consular and go talk to them
  • Talk to your parents (they can help more than you think they can)
  • Know that it's okay to not be okay
  • If someone you know is feeling sad don't be scared to go get them help
  • Journaling/Drawing
  • Listening to music
