Group Counseling

I am currently offering the following group counseling opportunities:

Friendship/Social Skills Group - students who would like to learn more about making friends, keeping friends, and/or getting along better with peers will be encouraged through role playing, sharing feelings, and discussion to practice appropriate social skills. The group will meet weekly for 30 minutes for 8 weeks during the regular school day.

Divorce Care Group - students who are currently experiencing a divorce or have experienced a divorce in the past year will meet to discuss their feelings surrounding divorce. Confidentiality will be stressed. The group will meet weekly for 30 minutes for 6 weeks during the regular school day.

Grief Group - students who have recently experienced the loss of a family member and/or loved one meet to discuss the stages of grief, express their feelings, and receive support. This group is led by a licensed therapist through Hospice with Mrs. Miller. Students will make a memory box and be encouraged to talk about their loved one.

Please let me know if you would like more information or to refer your student to participate in a group. Groups are only offered if at least 4 students participate. I am always happy to meet with students individually.
