EAGLE SHOUTOUTS
The EJHS Mastery Chorus proudly represented our school at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Large Group Performance Evaluation yesterday. The ensemble performed Class A music—the most difficult level of repertoire at the event—and earned the highest possible distinction, receiving Superior ratings in both the performance and sight-reading portions of the evaluation. Out of 33 total subcategories scored by the adjudicators, the choir received Superior (“1”) ratings in 32 of the 33 categories. This exceptional accomplishment reflects the students’ dedication, musicianship, and months of preparation.
Last week, EJHS hosted the annual district band performance evaluation, welcoming 52 bands and nearly 3,000 students to our campus. Our students did an outstanding job representing our school and helping run the event smoothly, while preparing and performing their own evaluations.
Results for our students:
• 8th Grade Band: 36 A’s, 14 B’s — Superior Rating
• Advanced Band: 43 A’s, 7 B’s — Superior Rating
• Mastery Band: 44 A’s, 6 B’s — Superior Rating
Notably, the Mastery Band was one of only two programs in the entire district performing at the Grade 6 level this year, and still earned an overall Superior rating, the highest rating possible. Both groups achieved these results while performing the most difficult music in our school’s history.
New equipment, big smiles, and a focus on inclusion! Thank you to the JCSS Foundation for the grant supporting our Adaptive PE students. Our students are already enjoying the equipment, as shown below!
Our East Jackson community shows up in big ways for our students, and we want to keep growing that impact.
If you believe in supporting East Jackson students, teachers, and schools, help us spread the word about the Eastside Eagle Foundation! The more people who know about the foundation, the more we can do for our students.

TRANSPORTATION AND SAFETY
We are thrilled to announce that all JCSS schools are adopting the Raptor Safe mobile application as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety, while streamlining visitor management check-in at our schools. The Raptor Safe app builds upon existing visitor procedures, offering a more convenient and secure check-in process for visitors.
What is the Raptor Safe App? The Raptor Safe app offers a convenient and secure way for visitors to manage and verify their identity before arriving at a school. With the Raptor Passport feature, visitors can pre-verify their identity, allowing for a seamless sign-in process when they arrive on campus.
How Does It Work? When visiting a school, visitors can use their secure QR code generated by the app to expedite the check-in process. QR codes automatically regenerate every 5 minutes to ensure security and prevent misuse.
