Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival
School doors open at 7:30 am. Please park at the Early Learning Village (ELV) and bring your child in to the front desk. You will enter through D door (the covered entrance for the ELV). You may not park in the drop off lane. At 8:00 am the doors to the ELV will be locked. If you arrive after 8:00 am, you will need to take your child to the main elementary office (B door) to sign them in.
You must sign your child in each day at the ELV front desk. State requires us to have up to date sign in/out sheets and checks them when they are here.
If your infant is ill or will not be at school, please communicate the reason and/or the illness to the teacher or the office as soon as possible.
Dismissal
If you are not utilizing our after-school care program, your child must be picked up by 3:30 pm or you will be charged for aftercare. To pick your child up, you will park in the ELV parking lot and come through the ELV doors to check your child out from the front desk which will be located as you enter D door. After you have checked out with the front desk then your child will be brought to you. You will need to sign your child out each day from the ELV desk. You will receive a daily log of your child activities during the day including diapers, feeding and naps.
We will be checking ID’s of everyone the first few weeks of school. If you have someone else picking up your child, they must be in your child’s Renweb account as authorized to pick up and show ID.
Daily Schedule
We will have a daily schedule that will include playtime, feeding, nap times, bible, outside time when the weather permits, and scheduled diaper changes. Our daily schedule will change some throughout the year as the children get older and their schedules change. The first few weeks of school we will take all children’s schedules given to us and try to make a classroom schedule that will accommodate all the children.
Curriculum
You can be confident that Jackson Christian is committed to making your child’s first transition from home a natural and easy one for you and your child. Our teachers will play, rock, cuddle, and talk to your baby. Teachable moments will be based on your child’s individual needs and developmental level.
STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT: Your child will have plenty of room for movement and exploration. Carefully selected books and toys will positively affect your child’s language, motor, cognitive and social skills. Reading, talking, and singing with your baby is a priority in order to encourage language development. A balance of planned and spontaneous activities based on your little one’s developmental needs and interests will help him/her grow at his or her own pace.
LOVE AND SAFETY ARE PRIORITIES: As babies’ motor skills increase, attempts at sitting, crawling, walking may be unsteady at first. We realize this and our trained, observant teachers keep this in mind as they make decisions and interact with your little one. Our teachers are careful observers and are responsive to the physical and emotional needs of your child.
BIBLE: Daily Bible time with songs and motions will help begin to lay your child’s foundation in the love of God.
Emergencies
In case of a school wide emergency, please make sure you have signed up for our school wide text and/or phone calls. These are greatly utilized by our school to be able to communicate with you during those times.
