Selection Policy

Cherokee Library Media Center exists to support teaching and learning at Cherokee Elementary School in Grades PreK - 4 (PreK - 5 beginning the 2022-2023 school year). We strive to support all age levels and all areas of the curriculum.

Materials added to the Library Media Center must meet certain criteria to be included in the collection.

• Materials must be of good quality in workmanship and factual content.

• Materials must be appropriate for the grade levels and interest levels for which they are purchased.

• Materials must reflect the needs of the school community.

• Materials must reflect the diversity of the school and community population.

• Materials must have two positive reviews from reputable review sources.

Donations -

Cherokee Library Media Center welcomes donations of materials; however, materials must meet the requirements listed above. Any materials not meeting the criteria, will not be placed in the collection.
