7th grade ELAR & Tech Apps I
I am so thrilled to be teaching at LBJ Middle School! I can't wait to dive right in and get to know each and every one of my students and their families. I hope to cultivate a fun and encouraging classroom that makes my students feel safe and welcome. Since this is only my fifth year teaching in the district, let me tell you a little bit more about myself...
I was born and raised in Texas and my family moved to Johnson City when I was 12 years old. I started my 7th grade year here at LBJ Middle School, so I feel like my life has taken me full circle and landed me right back where I started many years ago! I graduated in 2003 and went on to further my education at Texas State University in San Marcos. I graduated in 2008 with my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. After graduating college, I moved back to JC and took a job as a paraprofessional at LBJ High School where I worked for three years. In 2012, I chose to leave the field of education to focus on my family business and raising my kids. In 2017, I returned to the district as a substitute teacher. It was then that I realized my heart's desire was to get back in the classroom. I felt like the stars aligned perfectly for me when I discovered that the 7th grade ELAR position was open, and the rest is history!
I live in the heart of Johnson City with my two children, Carson and Quinn. We have a Catahoula lacy pup named Whiskey, a chihuahua named Templeton, and two cats, Pharaoh and Toes. We enjoy swimming and boating in the local rivers and lakes, attending music festivals, hunting and fishing, camping, 4 wheeling, and vacationing to the beach and mountains. I also enjoy working out and running obstacle course races such as the Spartan Races and Tough Mudder.
I look forward to starting the year off with a bang and keeping the momentum going throughout the 2025-2026 school year!!
