Welcome to Our Virtual SEL Support!

Meet Your

Support Squad

Hello Parents/Guardians,

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce Newton Elementary School SEL team. Mrs. Newlin will be responsible for all Pre-K to 2nd grade students and Mrs. Biggs will work closely with 3rd to 6th grade students. Mrs. Glosser will connect and assist students with appropriate school behavior. We are so happy to be here and excited for the 2022-2023 school year!

We would like the students here to think of our offices as a warm and friendly place, where they are always welcome. Our office is also a safe haven- a place where they can get help if they feel confused or worried. We look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families and the community. We will strive to meet the needs of all our students and families.

Any student can request to meet with us or can be referred by a teacher, administrator or parent/guardian. We encourage you to reach out if you have concerns regarding your child. If you would like to meet us, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are here to help all students achieve their personal/social and academic goals, as well as provide support for parents and teachers.

This year, we will have monthly district themes that correspond with your students classroom guidance lesson and our new monthly Family Engagement Activities. Each month a newsletter will be sent with your student with different topics to promote social/emotional learning at home.
