JA Company Program empowers high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community and teaches them practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture.
Throughout the process of building their own company, participants collaborate, make crucial business decisions, communicate with multiple stakeholders, and develop entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. Community volunteers and mentors provide real-world guidance and experience to the participant-led startup.
The program is available for both in-school and afterschool settings and may be completed during one semester or throughout an entire school year. It is great for business and marketing classes, finance classes, school clubs, and youth entrepreneurship programs.
JA provides curriculum, training for program facilitators/educators, and support along the way. Additionally, student participants are eligible to compete in JA North's Company of the Year competition in April.

If you are not quite ready to dive into the full Company Program, Pop-Up is a great alternate. In Pop-Up, students learn how to plan, launch, and operate their own business venture generating profits within a structured, guided experience. This teacher-led seven session program walks the class through selling a predetermined product or supporting an existing school or community event. Participants focus primarily on marketing and sales roles, while learning the basics of launching and operating a pop-up business. Company Program Pop-Up can be used in high school or eighth grade classes.
