Powering/Charging Issues


  1. If this device is being logged on for the FIRST TIME by a student, make sure that they If the device seems to have NO power, try the following options:


  1. Plug in charger to the charging port. There are 2 ports available for charging.

  2. Look to see if there is a RED or WHITE light on the RIGHT side of the Chromebook.

  3. Select AT THE SAME TIME - "ESC" and "REFRESH" (Spinning arrow)

  4. Tap the power button - on the LEFT side of the Chromebook

  5. This will wake it up for a "Deep Sleep"

Sign In Issues


  1. If this device is being logged on for the FIRST TIME by a student, make sure that they get the JISD Login popup

  2. That popup ensures that the device is connected to the internet.

  3. If that popup does not show up, ensure that the device is connected to the internet. Bottom RIGHT of the screen.

  4. Login information is the following unless told otherwise

    1. USERNAME - firstname.lastname@jasperisd.net

    2. PASSWORD - lunch number

WiFi Issues

If the Chromebook is not connecting to the WiFi, try the following steps


  1. BOTTOM RIGHT of the screen select the "WiFi" symbol.

  2. At the TOP of the popup select "SHUT DOWN"

  3. The Chromebook will have to stay SHUT DOWN for about 20 minutes.

  4. After 20 minutes, then press the POWER BUTTON on the LEFT side of the Chromebook.

  5. The Chromebook will turn on.

Accessibility Issues

Students will sometimes change their accessibility settings, here is a way to change them back to the default Chromebook settings;

  1. BOTTOM RIGHT side of screen, select the "WiFi and Date"

  2. Select the "Settings" button (Gear symbol)

  3. On the left side of the window, find ADVANCED

  4. ACCESSIBILITY

  5. MANAGE ACCESSIBITILY FEATURES

  6. This is where the student can change their different accessibility features.

App/Class Link Issues

You have to go to the JISD Student Dashboard to access certain websites and apps.

IMPORTANT: You must utilize Google Chrome for the Internet Browser. Once you open up Google Chrome, make sure that no one is logged into the Browser itself. If they are, log them out.

  1. Navigate to Dashboard

    1. Click on JISD Student Dashboard icon from ANY Campus Webpage. You can also find the link under the "For Student" tab of all webpages including the main Jasper ISD webpage. (www.jasperisd.net)

  2. Sign In

    1. Your login page is a custom page specific to your school organization. Sign in by using your network login username and password.

  3. My Apps

    1. The My Apps screen is where all of your online resources will be located. If required, enter your username and password once and ClassLink will remember it for you! (Install the ClassLink Extension, if prompted.)

  4. My Files

    1. My Files allows you to connect other cloud drives in Class Link to access all of your files in one location. If connected, your One Drive can be accessed as well.
