Class overview
The course, “Agriculture Exploration,” examines various parts of the agricultural world. It is meant to help students understand why agriculture is important and relevant to their lives. By the end of the course, students will know about agriculture in Georgia and America, and why it is important. They will also learn about different careers that are available in the agriculture field.
Agriculture Education is a three circle model that consists of Classroom and Lab Instruction, FFA/Leadership, and Supervised Agriculture Experiences.
Each student will be able to join FFA and have the opportunity to participate in leadership events, competitions, and educational field trips. There is a $20 cost to join, and dues include our yearly club t-shirt!
Students will also be required to complete a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) project, that is to be done outside of school hours at home or in the community. 6th and 7th graders must complete four hours, and 8th graders must complete 6 hours.
