My interests are in the gaps, the margins, and the pinch-points of societies. These places are often unseen, making children and young people uniquely vulnerable to wide-ranging violence. Over the past ten years, I have worked with a network of child protection organizations in Southeast Asia as a social researcher and consultant on child and vulnerable person’s rights. A significant portion of my research has focused on the unique vulnerabilities of males to violence, particularly sexual violence, throughout a variety of contexts— a topic that has traditionally received little attention from researchers and programming for health and social welfare.
