The Title I program provides supplemental educational services so that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. Title I, Part A provides support to schools in implementing either a school-wide program (SWP) or a targeted assistance program (TAP) and requires that these programs use effective methods and instructional strategies that are grounded in evidence-based research.
The purpose of the Title I, Part C, Migrant Education Program, is to design and support programs that help migrant students overcome the challenges of mobility, cultural and language barriers, social isolation, and other difficulties associated with a migratory lifestyle. These efforts are aimed at helping migrant students succeed in school and successfully transition to post-secondary education and/or employment. JISD partners with ESC Region XIII in a Shared Services Agreement to identify and serve the migrant students in our district.
