Since The Poppy Project was founded in 2021, we have already been able to help so many animals and we wouldnt be able to do it without the support of people like you
THANK YOU!
Here are a few of our highlights of what we have been able to do to date:
Alaska was the first animal we have helped as part of The Poppy Project. We have been her guardian, paying for her care at Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats for a number of years. She unfortunately passed away earlier this year, but we know that her last few years were lived in luxury thanks to the team at Buttercups!
We did a matched giving with Angels for Animals to cover the cost of Honey's operation she needed before she could come to the UK. Unfortunately, desptie the amazing care and support from AFA, Honey passed away. We have since made a donation in her honour to help AFA continue saving the lives of streeet dogs.
We sponsored Scout's monthly costs whilst he was cared for by Amicii Dog Rescue in Romania. This helped pay for his medical care and eventually with his travel to a foster home in the UK.
After seeing a video of this beautiful blind boy in a Chinese shelter, we knew we had to help. Nana's Haven ended up taking care of him, and we donated and fundraised to help cover his ongoing medical care. We named him Ollie after Jade's childhood dog, and he is now in a lovely home in the USA.
We welcomed our very own meat trade survivor Lilly P to our home! The plan was for Lilly to be our first foster dog, but before she actually arrived she quickly became our first foster fail! After us personally covering all of her costs, she arrived a year to the day that we said goodbye to Poppy!
Since Lilly P, we have had the great honour of being able to welcome so many meat trade survivor dogs to the UK before heading to their forever homes! Albus and Amber were the first!
In total, we raised over £13,000 in our first year, all of which went towards helping animals like the above live out their best life and we can't wait to do even more!
