Middle School Unit Webinars (varies, ~1 hour each): OpenSciEd (OSE) provides Unit-Specific Webinars. Within each is a section called: A Walkthrough the Storyline for the Unit, which includes an OSE facilitator going through a brief explanation of each lesson within a unit in chronological order. During the walkthrough they call out and highlight important information. As you watch the lessons, jot down key takeaways on your Unit’s Storyline. Takeaways include items such as relevant models, data, images, texts, anchor charts, items in callout boxes, etc. Does your understanding of the storyline match OSE’s intent? Staff can obtain PD hours for watching the OSE Unit Specific webinars prior to the start of a new OSE Unit (see your SJD MS Science grade level pacing guide for the unit scope & sequence). Should your pacing vary, please email Tanya Wojciechowicz and Gretchen Fuhrmann for approval to obtain PD hours outside the associated window.
