GRADING:

Grades in SEL will be comprised of 3 different categories. Each category will make up a different percentage of their grade, as follows:

Assessments (tests): 50 %

Classroom Assignments (written): 30%

Classroom Activities (participation): 20%

TICKETS:

In SEL, I incorporate an incentive program through the use of “tickets”.  There are multiple ways the students can earn tickets, which are posted in my classroom.  Students will be allowed to “spend” their tickets only on “A” Days (during soft start or their lunch recess).  I also use this program as a way to teach responsibility. Therefore, I will inform the students that they are responsible for their tickets and they should “treat them like money”.  I will keep the 3rd graders’  tickets in my classroom, however; the upper grades will be expected to find a “safe” place to keep them. I will not replace lost, stolen, damaged, or forgotten  tickets.

GOT  POP TABS ?

We collect pop tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House, so please don’t throw them away.  This is also one of the ways students can earn tickets, so please send them in!  Last year the students collected 100 pounds of pop tabs.
