Please note that the NAT examination will be held on Sundays, which is a public Holiday in Kolkata. During Public holidays, there will be less amount of public transport and limited cab services, therefore please ensure that you need to keep extra time beforehand to be able to reach the test center on time.
For outstation candidates, you should arrive at least a day before to take part in the examination.
How to reach Kolkata (for Outstation candidates)
Kolkata is the gateway to eastern India. A city with a rich heritage, bustling streets, and a bewildering variety of facets. The city is well connected by road, rail, and air.
By Air: Most of the international & domestic airlines have direct services to and from Kolkata to other important cities. The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport is the international and domestic airport at Dum Dum. The Dum Dum metro station is about 5 km from the airport.
By Rail: Superfast trains like Rajdhani Express, Coromondal Express, Shatabdi Express, Vande Bharat, Gitanjali Express connect it to the national capital, major and nearby cities. The city has three major stations at Howrah, at Sealdah, and another at Kolkata (Chitpur).
By Road: Kolkata is connected to all the nearby places by road. Well-connected national highways (NH2, NH6 & NH34) connect it to important cities in the country. The Esplanade Terminus is the main bus terminus that lies in the heart of the city.
How to reach the test center
By Rail: The nearest local railway station is Jadavpur, which can be reached via local trains from Sealdah. Test center will be 15 minutes walk from the station.
By Bus: E1, AC-1 and S-5 buses can be taken from Howrah station and get down at the Bengal Lamp stoppage to enter the university. From Bengal lamp stoppage it will be a 5 minutes walk to the test center.
By Metro: Two metro stations connect Jadavpur University Rabindra Sarovar and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar. One can take auto from any of these stations and reach the test center.
By Cab: Examinees can use online app cab services to reach the center as well.
