IXL's SmartScore makes differentiation easy - you can set SmartScore goals based on the needs of the individual student.
Use IXL's classes feature to divide your roster into different groups (leveled groups, your caseload, grade levels, etc) so that you can assign separate skills to different groups of students based on their levels and their needs.
Learn how to hide grade levels for students who may be working below grade level.
Learn how to extend audio support for students who may need questions read aloud. For skill practice, students will have audio questions read to them for 3rd–8th grade levels for math and 3rd–5th grade levels in language arts skills.
Learn how to assign skills to students.
Use the Real-Time Diagnostic with your students to pinpoint their grade level proficiency. Then, use the Personalized Diagnostic Action Plan for progress monitoring. You can focus a student's IEP goals around their lowest strand(s).
Create your own Diagnostic Tracking sheet so students can track their own growth (check out this blog post for ideas for the tracking sheets)
Audio is built into the diagnostic up to 2nd grade level questions in ELA & Math. If you turn on "Extend Audio Support" in your "Profile and Settings", it will extend the audio up to 8th grade level for questions in math; however, it does NOT extend the audio beyond 2nd grade questions in ELA because the diagnostic is measuring a student's ability to read independently with 3rd grade and higher text.
Watch this 30-minute webinar and learn how to use the Real-Time Diagnostic to personalize instruction for your students.
