Application Process

Application Process:

The application process begins on January  5, 2026 at 7am. Follow the step by step directions below. Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.  Employees of Isle of Wight County Schools receive priority if their child has met all enrollment requirements, and space allows for a balanced class.  The first round of applications are due on Thursday January 15th 4:30pm. If enrollment numbers are not filled, applications will be left open and reviewed on a rolling basis, it is best to complete your application as quickly as possible.  An application is not considered complete until all additional paperwork has been received.  

Step 1: Many frequently asked questions can be answered by looking at the   Little Sprouts Contract  we advise you to read through the contract prior to applying to make sure that this program is a good fit for your child.  

Step 2: Complete Little Sprouts Application: Little Sprouts Application   (when applying use an email address you will check often)

Step 3: Submit Hard Copies of the following documents to Little Sprouts Pre-K: either through IWCS pony, or drop off at WES Little Sprouts Location or WES front office between the hours of 7-8am, 9:05-3:00pm, or 4:05 to 4:30pm.

1. Child’s State Issued Birth Certificate

2. Child’s Physical Health Form – dated within 12 months of school start date and Immunization Record Virginia Health School Entrance Form

3. Photo Identification - of Parent/Guardian

4. Custody papers (if applicable)

5. Two (2) of the following documents are required to verify residency:

   • • • Utility company statement showing the parent/guardian name and Isle of Wight address

       •  Auto/homeowner/rental insurance policy

       •  Rental contract or rent receipt

       •  Isle of Wight property tax bill

       • Current automobile registration showing the parent/guardian name and Isle of Wight address 

       • Mortgage verification 

       • Close of escrow

       • (IWCS employees living outside of IWCS just provide one of the above).

Step 4: Wait for first round of notifications which will be made no later than February  1st, 2026 and be prepared to do the following steps.

Step 5: If you are accepted into the program  you will  have one week from the date of acceptance to submit the following:

-Submit Completed  Little Sprouts Contract hard copy 

-Submit $550.00 Down Payment (Check or Money Order payable to Isle of Wight County Schools)

-Payroll Deduction form for IWCS employees-if wanted (This must be an original copy, after you submit to Little Sprouts we will sign off and submit to IWCS Finance department)

Step 6: Once all of the above is complete you will then be directed to complete an IWCS online registration, after this registration is complete your child will be enrolled in Little Sprouts Pre-K.  IWCS Online registration
