Maximize your learning with our personalized, one-on-one 30-45-minute sessions. We are located at the Hamilton County campus, 2nd floor, Room 217. We offer writing, research, math, chemistry, economics, anatomy, and biology tutoring. Students can make appointments or drop-in.

How to Schedule Appointments
Log into MyIvy using your Ivy Tech email and password.
Open Tools & Resources, then select the Campus Tutoring Services icon. Consider favoriting it for easy access in the future.
Click Schedule an Appointment or Search for Availability to open the appointment search tool.
Choose a subject by selecting the course you'd like tutoring for and a reason for your upcoming visit. Click Search to view available appointment times.
Available appointment options will appear, displaying the appointment time, type, location options, and tutor. Select your preferred appointment time.
Identify whether or not the appointment is online or in-person by selecting or de-selecting the "is online" checkbox.
Verify the session's details to confirm and reserve the appointment time and location.
Watch your Ivy Tech email inbox for an immediate appointment confirmation message and additional instructions for accessing your tutoring session. You will also receive a reminder email the evening before your scheduled appointment.
Drop ins
You can drop in to Room 217 or Room 213 for a session, but appointments take precedence.

Meet Our Tutors
About me
Prof. Jon Whitehead is the Director of Academic Support (Testing, Tutoring, and Library Services) for the Hamilton County Campus. He has been an English educator for over 14 years, teaching both at the high school and college level. Prof. Whitehead believes writing is a collaborative, social process; therefore, one-on-one tutoring is an invaluable way for student's to receive real world feedback on their writing. He received a B.A. and M.A. in English from IUPUI-Indianapolis.
About me
Prof. Valerie Mickley is an adjunct English professor, works in the Tutoring Center for the Hamilton County Campus, & is the Vice-chair for the Hamilton County Faculty Council. She has been an English educator for 25 years, teaching both at the high school and college level. Prof. Mickley believes education should be fair & equal for all students, & that critical thinking, researching, & writing skills are imparative to academic success; therefore, one-on-one tutoring is a stellar way to help students. She received a B.A. from Cornerstone University (Grand Rapids, MI), and a M.A.E.T in English from Western Michigan University.
About me
Sam Sebhatu has a Master of Science in mathematics education from Purdue University and a bachelor degree in Marine Biology and Fisheries from the University of Asmara, Eritrea. Sam worked as marine biologist in the Department of Research in his native country of Eritrea from 1996 - 2001. He has been in the tutoring profession for over twenty years, staring out in college as a peer tutor. Sam had worked as a full-time tutor with the Indianapolis Learning Center for 4 years before he moved to the position of the Assistant Director of the center in which he served for another 8 years. He is now a fulltime Math faculty at Hamilton County.

Rachel Holtzclaw is a writing tutor in the Tutoring Center. She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Indianapolis.

Brian Wynn has an MBA from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Chemical Engineering. Brian worked for Eli Lilly and Company for over 30 years in roles as diverse as process and design engineering to corporate finance. Brian has been a member of the adjunct faculty of Ivy Tech for over 10 years teaching a variety of mathematics courses and has tutored at the Indianapolis Learning Center. He continues as an adjunct faculty member at Ivy Tech.

Manisha Jukareddy is a Writing Tutor in the Tutoring Center. She is attending graduate school at IU of Indianapolis to earn her Master's in English education.
About me
Mohammed has a Ph.D in Statistics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and an Honours & Masters degree in Statistics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mohammed has been teaching MATH in Ivytech since 2005 as an Adjunct Professor. Mohammed has been teaching MATH Courses: MATH 100, MATH 123 and MATH 135. Mohammed was a Professor of Statistics and Chair of the Department of Statistics, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

George has taught math classes online for Ivy Tech since 2015. He holds an MA in Mathematics from University of California, Santa Barbara.
