The Writing Center is now open for face to face tutoring on campus! Come see us in the library, or reach out for a virtual appointment.
What is the Writing Center?
We are friendly, experienced tutors ready to help you with writing assignments for any class. Our tutors can help you with brainstorming, organizing, researching, revising, and documenting your writing assignments for any class. Services are free to Ivy Tech students, and no appointments are required. Our lab has computers for your convenience, and it has been redesigned to allow for social distancing.
Where is the Writing Center?
We are located in the Carter Library on the first floor of the main campus. You can find a detailed map here.
What should students bring to the Writing Center?
Bring a copy of the assignment you are working on, any outlines or drafts you have created, and questions for the tutors. Be sure to wear your mask!
Why should I use the Writing Center?
Writing Center tutors can support your writing process by offering feedback, suggestions, and insight into your work. Tutors can help you brainstorm, plan, develop, and strengthen your writing through cooperative, individual sessions.
When can students use the Writing Center?
One-on-one Tutoring Services: Located in the Carter Library.
We cannot accommodate all subjects, but will strive to match you to a tutor.
Online tutoring can be accessed 24-hours a day: Go to the course you are needing help with and locate the "Free Online Tutoring" link on the course navigation menu on the left side. If the link is not visible, ask your instructor.
