Beginning with the Fall 2022 term, Ivy Tech Community College Columbus will start requiring students in certain academic programs to have their own laptop computer. This requirement coincides with Ivy Tech moving into Moravec Hall, its new main campus building.
Moravec Hall is designed for the 21st century with technologically advanced classrooms and inviting, accessible social spaces. Its design affirms that most students in the 21st century come to college familiar with modern technology and already own a computer. This eliminates the need for dedicated computer labs and emphasizes the need for connected collaborative spaces.
Students in the following academic programs will be required to have their own laptop beginning Fall 2022: Dental Assisting, Nursing, Supply Chain and Logistics, Surgical Technology, Cyber Security/Information Assurance, Information Technology Support, and Software Development. Students in the Ivy Tech Franklin Nursing program will also be required to bring their own laptop.
Please note: Chromebooks, cell phones and tablets will not meet the specifications for any course. All students will be expected to have a fully functioning laptop computer.
