Please allow time for questions (3-5 minutes) in the total amount of time allocated to your presentation type. Further discussions can be carried out outside the Sessions.
Plenary - 45 minutes total.
Keynote and Invited - 30 minutes total
Contributed - 15 minutes total
We have decided NOT to use digital poster terminals and use, instead, standard poster boards
Please make A0 portrait size posters. We recommend fabric posters as they are able to be easily carried when travelling to the Congress
Use large, hierarchical font sizes, such as 90-100 pt for the title, 50-60 pt for headings, and 30-36 pt for body text, ensuring the text is legible from about a meter away. Stick to 3-4 font sizes in total to avoid a cluttered look and use a clean, sans-serif font like Arial for readability.
The presenting author should stand in front of their poster and field questions for the two hour duration of their session.
The Chair(s) are responsible for the smooth running of their sessions, from start to finish. There will be technical support that one can call upon but the running of the session is the sole responsibility of the Chair(s). The main responsibilities are:
Stay on time for the entire session. There are 15-minute pauses within each session so that if one gets behind a little one can catch up and remain on time for the end of the session.
Introduce the speaker, their name and their institution, and the title of their talk.
Give the speaker a warning when they have three to five minutes left of their presentation time:
15 minute presentation: three minutes before the end
30 minute presentation: five minutes before the end
45 minute presentation: five minutes before the end
The Chair should allow for one to two questions for each presentation.
If the presentation goes to the full time there will be no questions taken and the Chair must request the speaker to finish within the minute.
If there is time to ask questions and none are asked from the floor the Chair should try to ask a question to the speaker
The Chair should make sure that all speakers are present, and that their presentations have been loaded onto the presentation computer, before the start of the session.
