For more than 40 years, National Art Honor Society programs have recognized outstanding visual arts students and their teachers. The program supports members in achieving the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service while providing opportunities for leadership, peer recognition, college and career preparation, community engagement, and more—helping to promote the value of art education within schools and communities. Students will be able to put NAHS member status on their college applications and resumes.
Students will be able to earn the right to wear a graduation cord.
Students can go to the NAHS website and submit work for a juried art exhibition, apply for selected college scholarships and more.
MEMBER BI-LAWS
*Pay an annual due of $10 for 9th - 11th graders and $15 for 12th graders.
*Attend 75% meetings to maintain membership and privileges. (you can miss a maximum of 2 meetings)
*To graduate with NAHS honors and earn the right to wear a cord at graduation, a member must remain in good standing until the graduation date, complete 3 years of visual arts, and at least 10 hours of service per year.
*Members must have and maintain an average of B or higher in all their art class. Or a 3.5 art GPA.
*Members must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative average in all other subjects.
*Membership in this chapter shall be based upon art service, character and attendance.
*The selection of members to this chapter of the National Art Honor Society shall be by approval from the art faculty of this school.
*Visual arts classes at Woodbridge include classes from the following programs: Video Production, Studio Arts (Painting & Drawing courses), Ceramics, Graphic Design.
*Members need to demonstrate dedication to Visual Arts at Woodbridge by having taken, being enrolled in, or planning to take at least 3 upper division visual art courses before graduation. (Level 2, 3, and AP courses)
*Members may remain active during such times when there are no visual arts on their class schedules as long as they fulfill all of the other requirements each year.
*In the event of an infraction of rules, a review by the officers and sponsors will be conducted. If the individual in question is an officer, he/she will not participate in the decision-making process. This applies to all community laws as well as school and chapter rules.
Click on our TRACKER link and check for your name. You will be able to see your hours and what you're signed up for. Other information like your GPA and courses will be kept private and we'll notify you if you're in danger of not maintaining membership.
We will have multiple deadline opportunities throughout the year and will notifiy you when these are during Art Council meetings. Once applications are in, we will make announcements at the following Art Council meeting. Our first application deadline will be OCTOBER 21st, 2026 with dues accepted on our Nov. 4th club lunch meeting.
Certificates will be rewarded in April after FAD and completion of volunteer hours. If you are short hours, there will be 1 (maybe 2) additional volunteer opportunities available to meet the requirements.
We will do an inital check of GPA and volunteer hours in February and one more after Spring Break (after grades are posted).
