Check out these local volunteering options below. Each organization has different age requirements so be sure to make sure you are eligible to volunteer at the specific organizations. If you are trying to document service hours for the UHS Community Service log it must be signed by your supervisor. Clubs at UHS are also a great way to find volunteer opportunities-- you can find a complete list of UHS clubs HERE.

IPSF Summer Volunteers (2025)

Irvine Public Schools Foundation is looking for students to plan and coordinate lunchtime activities for elementary students participating in IPSF Summer classes and camps. Not only will they be able to fulfill service hours, but they will gain experience mentoring younger children and sharing their talents with them.

OC Public Libraries

Teens can help at the library by shelving books, preparing crafts for children’s programs and storytimes, assisting with the summer reading program, or even teaching computer skills, among other opportunities. Ask at your local branch for an application and additional details.

Teens 13 and older

Hoag Hospital Teen Volunteer Program

Hoag’s Jr. Auxiliary/Candystriper volunteer program consists of local students ages 15-18 who volunteer their time to assist patients, visitors, staff and the hospital. Applications open seasonally and require a year-long commitment

UCI Health High School Volunteer Program

You must be 16 and have a medical clearance form completed and signed by your physician
Applications only open once during the fall and require a year-long commitment

UCI Health Music to Heal Volunteer Program

You must be 16 and have a medical clearance form completed and signed by your physician
Applications for high school volunteers only open once during the fall

Pretend City Volunteer

Become a Pretend City Volunteer and explore various roles throughout our Museum! From helping a child learn a life skill through exhibit exploration.

Teens 13 and older

Pageant of the Masters

Pageant of the Masters is looking for students to volunteer in roles both on and off the stage during their summer production. Auditions start annually in January.

Discovery Cube

Our enthusiastic and active group of teen volunteers serve mostly on weekends, school holidays, and during the summer. We are seeking high schoolers who are outgoing with a passion for STEM education.

Second Harvest Food Bank

OC Coastkeeper

As waste continually pollutes our streets, waterways, and beaches, Cleanup OC provides the opportunity for you to help protect and restore the environments well call home. Through Cleanup OC, Coastkeeper holds monthly beach cleanups and coordinates the annual OC Coastal Cleanup Day.

Schoolhouse

Volunteer your time by hosting free tutoring sessions for other students across the world who need help in high-school math, SAT prep, and more. Plus, you’ll be able to track the work you do as volunteer and service hours for college applications.

Ages: high schoolers can apply to be trained and certified as tutors

Math Matters

We are looking for passionate high school/middle school volunteers (age 13+) to spend two-hours a week including one-hour tutoring/teaching time at the library or online. You will be working with 1-2 kids every session and watch them learn and grow. If you can't make it every week, you can still sign up for whatever weeks work for you!

Do you love to work with children? Do you have a passion for STEM? Do you need community service hours? Do you want a flexible volunteer schedule? Are you seeking leadership opportunities? We would love to have you as a volunteer!

Pacific Marine Mammal Center

We offer several opportunities for teens! These roles provide teens with the opportunity to be involved with a marine conservation organization and gain skills in leadership, team work, public speaking and more.

Opportunities are available in the Virtual Literacy Lab, which focuses on engaging girls in kindergarten through third grade to ensure they are reading at grade-level proficiency and increasing their skills in comprehension, writing, and vocabulary.

Love In Music

We invite you to become a part of our journey. Twice a year, prior to each semester, we actively seek passionate volunteers willing to dedicate a minimum of 2 hours per week on Saturdays to teach instruments or coordinate our programs.
