Homework Log:
- Students are expected to fill in additional assignments on their homework log each day before leaving class.
- Students will include other important information like special events, holidays, or other items needing to be returned.
- Parents initial the homework log each night to indicate that their child has completed ALL assigned homework for the day.

- Students can read a book of their choice. 3rd graders should be reading chapter books. Books can be selected from home or checked out from the school library. We encourage students to read books rather than digital text for nightly reading.
- Students record the title of the book or chapter for each day of homework.
- During the 2nd and 3rd Trimesters, students will be selecting books based on their Lexile Level. When books are complete, students can take an Accelerated Reader quiz to earn points toward our Book Club incentive. Additional information can be found on The Book Club tab in the 3rd Grade Homepage.

The Challenge Activity is optional. There will be a new one each week and they are due on Friday. They need to be completed by the student and in their BEST work, or they will not be accepted. There will be a variety of challenge activities to enrich your child’s thinking and extend learning beyond the classroom.
