Remind Text Messages: Send a text to 81010 with the message @mrsdyo2526

I find it easier to text, more than anything. Instead of sending emails for announcements and test reminders, I prefer texting the entire class with the Remind app. One thing I love about Remind is that parents can text me individually, and I can text them back. I highly encourage you to sign up for Remind for these messages.

I usually reply to all text messages before 4pm on weekdays.

Teacher Bio

I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Social Behavior with a minor in Education from University of California, Irvine. I also received my Master's in Teaching and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from UCI. I am truly a UCI Anteater at heart. Zot zot! 

I worked shortly as an instructional assistant at Woodbury, before landing at my current home Stonegate Elementary. I have been teaching 2nd grade for many years. This will be my 14th year teaching second graders and I love this age group so much!

Fun Fact: I am a 3rd generation teacher. My grandmother worked as an instructional aide in San Gabriel helping English Language Learners. My mother recently retired after working as a 4th, 7th, and 8th grade teacher in Long Beach Unified for 38 and 1/2 years!

Philosophy

I am committed to creating a classroom community of independent, life long learners who value building their character while pursuing high achievement in academics. My classroom should be an environment that is both positive and nurturing. I believe that children learn best when actively engaged and that learning should be fun! It is my desire to make the greatest impact by personally connecting with my students, their parents, and my school community.
