Hello Northwood Families!
My name is Christina Espinosa and this year I wrapped up my ninth year in the classroom! My passion for teaching began when I was an aide in Orange following my graduation from the University of Kansas. I quickly enrolled in a credential and masters program at Loyola Marymount University and I have been in the classroom ever since. I spent four years teaching various grades in elementary school in Los Angeles before making the move back to Orange County where I spent time as a long-term substitute in Irvine Unified and an Intervention teacher at Newport Elementary. I am so happy to be able to call Northwood Elementary School my home and I can't wait to get to know each student. This year my goal is to connect with each student and help to foster their love for learning.
A little bit about myself:
I am an Orange County native, born and raised in Santa Ana, California. I moved to Kansas to attend college and loved my experiences and time as a Jayhawk. When I am not working, I love to enjoy the beautiful California weather. I enjoy spending time at the beach, riding bikes, hiking, yoga, and doing many other activities in the sun (wearing sunscreen, of course!). I love to travel and visit my family all around the country. I am also an avid sports fan. I love watching Angels and Nationals baseball as well as my favorite college basketball team, The Kansas Jayhawks.
