Dear Northwood Parents,
Listed below are supplies that each grade level suggests students bring to class this fall. These suggested lists have been compiled based on needs identified to support the delivery of grade-level curriculum.
Please note that the Constitution of the State of California requires that we provide a public education to you free of charge. Your right to a free education is for all school/educational activities, whether curricular or extracurricular, and whether you get a grade for the activity or class. Subject to certain exceptions, your right to a free public education means that we cannot require you or your family to purchase materials or supplies for any school activity.
This list suggests that students bring a number of items, they are considered voluntary. No student will be restricted from participation if they are not sent to school.
If shopping at Office Depot, please use Northwood Elementary School’s Office Depot ID #70009075 at the checkout. Northwood will get a 5% sales credit for each of these purchases).
4th Grade Suggested Items:
Please no rolling backpacks. Backpacks should be able to hang on the backpack rack
4 sharpened #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils)
1 box of 24 regular crayons
1 box sharpened colored pencils
1 red ink ballpoint pen
1 yellow highlighter
1 pair safety scissors
1 glue stick
1 eraser (e.g. Pink Pearl, Magic Erase)
1 black fine-point dry erase marker and 1 white board eraser
NW school planner may be purchase for $7.00
The following novels will be read during the school year. Students will write and highlight in their personal copy. These novels can be purchased at any bookstore:

Island of the Blue Dolphin by Scott O’Dell (Fall)
By the Great Horn Spoon by Sid Fleischman (Spring)

Ream of letter-sized (8 ½” x 11” ) white copy paper
Boxes of tissues- Large preferred
Ream of single color copy paper (any color)
Baby Wipes/Hand wipes
College-ruled Notebook paper
