PLEASE CHECK THE COLLEGE BOARD AP EXAM SCHEDULE.
STEP ONE: Locate all the exams that you would like to take.
STEP TWO: If you are taking 2 exams on the same day, you must purchase both exams at the same location. Each Exam will take approximately 4 1/2 hours total time. There will be zero time to travel between an AM exam and a PM exam.
STEP THREE: Make a College Board Account at apstudents.collegeboard.org.
STEP FOUR: Fill out this form: AP Exam Registration for Non-IHS Students. Available on Feb. 1st
STEP FIVE: Before coming to pay for your exam, you must have the following with you:
School ID (student does not have to be present)
payment by credit card (only)
a device (cellphone, tablet, etc.) and the ability to log into your College Board Account at apstudents.collegeboard.org.
STEP SIX: Come to Irvine High School's Student Center (directions HERE). We will be selling exams between 7:30 am - 8:20 am on Feb. 20 - Feb. 23 and Feb 26. No exam will be sold on Saturday, 2/24 or Sunday, 2/25. No exams will be sold after 8:20 am on Feb. 26. You will need to park in the back parking lot as the front parking lot is under construction
Test are $200/ exam for IUSD students. The College Board charges a $40 late fee per exam if a student registers for any test during the spring window ($160 + $40). Except for the below:
Qualified Free and Reduced Lunch Students through IUSD Nutrition Services ($95/exam) Click HERE for more information. This is only for students who attend an IUSD school.
***NOTE AFTER purchasing an exam you MUST enter an EXAM ONLY join code in your College Board Account. We will give you the code at the time of purchase.
Students in 9th grade and below who are not concurrently enrolled in the IUSD AP course for the exam requested must receive approval from the IUSD District Office AP Early Access Exam Committee before registering for an exam at any IUSD High School.

STEP FIVE: You will be contacted when you can come in and pay for your exam. If you are contacted that you can purchase the AP Chinese Exam, you must have the following with you:

**Check the Calendar to make sure you do not have 2 exams at the exact same time. All exams taken on the same day must be at the same location.

Do I have to take the AP Exam? No. AP Exams are not mandatory and will not affect your grade in high school.
Do I have to have a College Board Account to take an AP Exam? YES!!!! There is no way Irvine HS can order you an exam unless you have a student account. Go to apstudents.collegeboard.org
Does my AP Exam count as college credits? Possibly. It depends on the college you would like to go to. Please check with your college of choice
Can I choose a different date or time to take my exam? No, all tests are given at the same date and time worldwide. College Board creates the schedule and we have to follow it.
Can I take an exam for a class that I am not enrolled in? YES! After you purchase the test you must get an "EXAM ONLY" join code and enter it into your College Board account. You can get your EXAM ONLY code from Irvine High School when you purchase an exam.
Can I take an exam at another school? YES. Please look at the above information "AP Exams offered at other IUSD schools"
I have 2 exams at the exact same time. What do I do? Contact Mr. King at Irvine High School and he can help you take the test at a later date.
Can I take 2 tests on the same day? Yes. As long as they are not at the same time AND they are at the same location. There is no way that you can take a test in the morning at one school and make it in time to take an afternoon exam at another school.
If I am not prepared, can I choose to take the test at a later time? No
Can I take a later exam if I have a conflict? Maybe. The event must be school related and the date must be out of your control such as a school sport championship game, but you will have to make arrangements with Mr. King as soon as you find out.
What if I am really sick on exam day? Please contact Mr. King immediately. You can take the exam at a later date with proof of a Doctor's note.
Are there refunds? Partially. College Board charges $40 for any canceled exams. IUSD is offering refunds minus the $40 up until February 26th. After Feb. 26th no refunds will be issued. Refund Form HERE.
How long are the exams? Most exams will be between 4 - 4 1/2 hours from check-in time. This time includes check-in, directions, collection of material, and a break.
IUSD charges more for the exams than College Board charges, where does the money go? The additional funds cover the cost of hiring proctors, equipment, and supplies for the exam AND it goes back to the AP student in the form of Teacher Training, technology in the classroom, supplies in the classroom, etc.
